I just watched this film called Twenty Feet From Stardom, which, if you haven’t heard of it, please go look it up! It’s an amazing film about background singers that premiered at Sundance this year, and features the most amazing singers I have ever heard in my life!
One part in the film features Merry Clayton, who sang on The Rolling Stones famous song Gimme Shelter. They played JUST her solo part, with not music, and it floored me. She did that in one fucking take! I found it on YouTube of course, and had to share it
